The project is a 160 m² apartment in the center of Athens, near the Greek Parliament, which used to be a private apartment, now converted into the headquarters of “Adventure Foundation”. The Foundation aiming to collect, preserve, store, classify and give greater accessibility to the majority of the existing old maps of Greece and Cyprus. The vision of the founder was to create a complete archive, firstly to preserve this valuable heritage and secondly to assist everyone who may be interested or may want to study on old maps, history etc.
The working space consists of three offices, a scanner room and a study room with library, where those interested can have access on the gathered data. The scope of the design study was to merge a modern design ideas and high technology workspaces with the characteristics of the classical identity of the building (1957) and the subject of the foundation.
